Drawing from her travels to Japan and Italy, where she met the hybridizers behind some of today's most exceptional pansies, Brenna will reveal the fascinating history, beauty, and future of this beloved bloom.
Brenna Estrada is an accomplished flower farmer whose passion for pansies has inspired a devoted following of gardeners and artists around the world. She is the author of Pansies (Timber Press, 2025), recipient of the American Horticultural Society's 2026 Book Award. Her work has been featured in Better Homes & Gardens, Sunset Magazine, The American Gardener, The Seattle Times, Elle Decor (Italy), Donna Moderna (Italy), and Schöner Wohnen (Germany).
Brenna lives in the Pacific Northwest on her flower farm, Three Brothers Blooms, where she continues her work making specialty pansy seed more accessible. With an artist's eye and a farmer's heart, she inspires a new appreciation for the humble yet extraordinary pansy

During this talk you will learn about the delicate relationship between flowers and bees, understand how local flowers create unique local honeys, gain new insight into the amazing life cycle of the honeybee, and maybe you will even be inspired to become a beekeeper in your own backyard!
Kimberly Alford began beekeeping in 2018. She currently has 6 hives on her 3.5 acre property on Fobes Hill in Snohomish. Kim has a B.S. in Zoology from the UW with an emphasis in entomology and gained her WASBA Apprentice Beekeeping Certificate through the Snohomish County WSU Extension. She is a member of the Northwest District Beekeepers Association and her blackberry honey and knotweed honey have won 1st Place & Best of Class multiple years at the Evergreen State Fair.
